Inspired by the work of such artists as Enki Bilal and H.R. Giger, Richard Jolivet has developed his own unique style and technique thanks to the virtuoso use of the airbrush and the integration of acrylic in his work. His very rigorous approach involves quite important aspects of research, whether it be at the level of techniques, composition, or assembly of various sections of the work. His pieces requires a good deal of integration before they ever see the light of day. Jolivet creates universes which are singular and equivocal and which often border on comic strips, as well as fantasy/science fiction stories. With his uncommon methods, the artist seeks to surprise and destabilize the viewer by taking him/her on a journey, with a different perspective of the imaginary world.
